Whether you thrive off having everything organized in your life or you simply live by the credo that there’s a method to your madness, there’s no arguing the fact that things tend to work more smoothly when there’s some form of organization taking place. But while many people know this, actually implementing it into their lives can be a challenge.

To help make this a little easier for you, here are three tricks to help you get more organized in your life.

Work From A Schedule

One of the first things that you should organize in your life is your time. If you fail to organize your time, you might find that you feel like there’s never enough time for you to accomplish all that needs to get done. But if you work from a schedule, you can be sure that everything has a time and date to get things done.

To start implementing this, Zachary Domes, a contributor to LifeHack.org, suggests that you start using a calendar to make goals, schedules, and deadlines for the important things in your life. By doing this, you’ll be sure that you never miss another appointment, never forget to have preventative maintenance done on your air conditioner or your vehicle, and never wind up with tasks that needed to be done last week that still haven’t been finished.

Set Up Good Routines

Another way you can make the most use of your time and help get more organized is to set up good routines that you follow day in and day out. While this might seem like it would create a boring life for you, the better you’re able to streamline your routines, the more time and energy you’ll have for other aspects in your life.

When you have good routines, Elizabeth Larkin, a contributor to The Spruce, shares that you’ll be able to automate things in your life that you have to get taken care of on a daily or otherwise regular basis. And when this happens, you’ll free your brain up to think about other areas of your life that need your attention without forgetting to do the small and simple things.

Pare Things Down

For many people, it’s their physical parts of their life that need a bit more organization.

After years and years of life, it’s totally normal to have acquired a lot of stuff. And while some of that stuff might be working for you, a lot of it probably isn’t. Knowing this, Dawn Nadeau, a contributor to Good Housekeeping, recommends that you try to pare things down at home. By giving yourself permission to let things go and only keep the things that you really use or love, it will be much easier for you to get organized and stay organized at home.
